1.  HYBA Summer Skills & Drills

How does it work?

Participating players will track their minutes invested shooting and dribbling, AND will also get credit for: doing a daily skills challenge, going to basketball camps, playing a non-basketball sport (baseball, softball, lacrosse, etc.) in the summer, and performing community volunteer service (you choose who you wish to help).

Who?

Hutch students entering 2nd - 8th grade in the 2024-25 school year.

Why?

Hutch Basketball NEEDS to develop hard-working, talented players who are willing to put in work in the off-season on their basketball fundamentals and skills. This program is a great opportunity for your kid to get outside to get some fresh air, enhance their like/love of the game of basketball, work towards a reachable goal and build their confidence and character in the process.

This is a self-lead program but we encourage your athlete to make this a friendly competition!  Get some friends and/or teammates together and see who can accumulate the most minutes each week or month!

When?

The program starts May 26th and goes through August 24th.

Cost-  $10 per player

Upon registration, you will receive an email with all the information about the program and tracking calendar to print out.

Recognition levels:
  • 1000 minutes- Gold T-Shirt
  • 3000 minutes- Black T-Shirt
  • Top Boy & Top Girl finisher- sweatshirt.
  • Players who log at least 1000 minutes will be recognized at the varsity games next season on HYBA nights.

Registration deadline is June 2nd.

HYBA Shoe Drive

HYBA is currently conducting a basketball shoe drive thru the end of the year.  We have bins set up in the office of the Hutchinson Middle School, Park Elementary, and Tiger Elementary.  We also have a bin set up near the lost and found at the Fairgrounds.  We are looking for gently used shoes that another kid would still get some use out of.  Please have your child bring them to school between now and the end of school.  Or, a parent is able to drop them off at one of the locations listed.  Please, only donate those shoes that you feel another kid would be able to use.

We will have a time before the beginning of the season next year for you to grab a pair of shoes if needed.

Thanks for supporting HYBA and youth basketball!
